Sick Babies Needing Prayer

In the orphanage where our baby is, in Bac Ninh, bronchitis and pneumonia are affecting some of the babies. Our baby was hospitalized, as were two other babies whose mothers I've gotten to know online, due to us all losing our Thai Nguyen referrals and bonding a bit online. From last reports, our baby is back at the orphanage and doing fine, and so is one of the other babies.

However, there is a very sick little baby in the hospital. One of the dear women I've met online is sick with worry for her baby. The poor little thing is still in the hospital and now on a respirator. PLEASE pray for this little soul especially, and the other ill babies in this orphanage, and the waiting mothers an ocean away.

A Whole Year

So, I was checking out the counter on my blog. It's been over a year now since our dossier was sent out. Wow. Here I thought switching from China to Vietnam would speed up the process of adopting...

A year ago, I thought we'd be coming home with our baby girl WELL before last Christmas. Now, I'm hoping for the same timing THIS year. PLEASE??????

Quick!!! I have a very dear friend turning 50 on Friday....and I don't have a clue what to get her!!!! HELP!!

I'm trying to think of something meaningful....she's kind of practical, though, doesn't wear a ton of jewelry, very down to earth, not into make-up and bath stuff, likes to garden a little bit....CRAP!

What are some of YOUR ideas????

Okay, so I'm wandering around the Internet tonite, looking for a piece of jewelry. In that regard, if anyone can find a necklace/pendant that represents the constellation Southern Cross, and isn't Cracker Jack looking, PLEASE let me know!!!

But, back to what I stumbled on. It's a fun website called http://www.exboyfriendjewelry.com/. And, they buy and sell jewelry from women who no longer want the things that remind them of the men that gave it to them. It's a fun site, presented in a fun way, and just reading some of the stories the women have posted with their jewelry is entertaining!!!

I don't normally endorse a website, but, check this one out...it's a hoot!!!

Whoa...

So, I was talking with my dear friend Karey, (who is FREAKIN' LEAVING FOR VIETNAM...GO KAREY!!!!) anyway....we were talking about how sometimes we tend to get caught up in the ins and outs and paperwork and red tape and delays of adoption that we file it in the back of our minds that soon our lives will be changing forever.

I had one of this "WHOA" moments just now. I'm dorking around on the Internet and thought, gee, I should look up Bac Ninh, (the province our new referral baby is from) and see what kind of travel information is out there. Then I'm thinking, really, why bother, since I'll only be in the province long enough to pick up our daughter. And it HIT ME. Our daughter. Our daugher lives in Bac Ninh. OUR DAUGHTER lives in Bac Ninh. I want to know EVERYTHING there is to know about Bac Ninh, where our DAUGHER is LIVING. Where our DAUGHTER was born. Whoa. We have a daughter waiting for us in Bac Ninh, and I know nothing about that tiny corner of the world!!!!!!

I think a part of this feeling comes from my absolute paranoia that this baby will still not be ours, and will be taken away like our first referral. But, something tonite in thinking about Bac Ninh is making me feel as if this could be real, and I want to know more about where she is right now.

It could be my guarded heart is letting its guard down!!! :)

Approvals are Coming in!!

Not for us yet, because it's still too soon, but, there have been a flurry of approvals lately!!!!!!!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy for everyone, but especially those of you waiting for approvals from Thai Nguyen. This is the province that has been held up for soooo long, and where our first referral was to come from. The province still holds a special place in my heart, as will that first baby. Congratulations to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yeah, I gotta mention Karey......I am soooooooooo freakin' happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who don't know, she's my dear friend and has waited over 170 days for their approval. Her blog link is just over there to the right at the top. :) I am just freaking thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!
