Official word has come out that Vietnam will be ending adoptions with the United States. For the AP article, here's the link:

What does this mean for us? I'm not certain yet. We are currently waiting on a new referral. I have been told that it should come soon. Whether or not we will fit in the current timeframe of things, I am uncertain. Right now I am going with the flow, and will be ecstatic if Iam flying home from Vietnam one day soon with a baby on my lap. However, I am not going to be surprised if that does not happen. I will be, of course, sad. But surprised?? Not anymore.
I feel terrible for the babies in need of a good home. They have asked for nothing in this life and have gotten caught up in a situation made impossible by bureaucracy and governmental egos.
I'll report more news on our case as I hear anything. In the meantime, light a candle, say a prayer, meditate, whatever you enjoy doing, for us, but more importantly, for the future of the little souls in Vietnam.

Update - Such as it is
I haven't blogged in awhile, I've noticed!!!! Why? Nothing much to report. We are currently waiting to hear news about a new referral. Until that happens, I've been trying really hard to take a little sabbatical from email. That, and I've become addicted to Rock Band. I know, I know, weird, eh????? Fun, though!!!!!
The weather reports say more snow tonite. Are you serious????? It's the end of April! The snow from the last storm is finally gone. But, it's cloudy and cold today, so I don't doubt we'll see some snowflakes soon. It's just nanners!!!!!!!
Have a good weekend, Everyone!!!!

Snow Photos
As promised, here are some photos of the snowstorm:
(keep in mind, there was NO SNOW on the ground before the storm!)

This is a shot of our backyard, with the neighbor's window in the background.
Our driveway after it was plowed out.
Car on the street.
More photos to come in a bit......
Two Feet and Rising
The snow's reached 2 feet and rising. I haven't seen snow up here like this for...20 years. Our DirecTV satellite dish on our roof is completely covered in snow.....no TV until we can clear some snow out. Good thing we have plenty of DVDs!!!!
Oh, have I mentioned it's STILL SNOWING?????? We've gotten our SUV plowed out now, so we're going out on 'patrol' later. I'll post some photos tonite!!
What is it about a big snow that brings out the giddiness...I feel like a little kid with a snowday!!

SNOWSTORM!!!
Okay, I thought it was supposed to be SPRING. We are in the midst of a major snow storm with over a foot of snow already fallen and much more coming. It's blowing, snowing, the driveway's blocked...it's a MESS. The trees are loaded, so I'm hoping through the night we keep our power and no branches break to fall on the power lines.
So, time to put up the old Christmas tree, I guess!!!!!! I'll have to take some photos tomorrow, I think. This is the most snow we've seen all year. WOW...looking out the window, it's just blowing out there!!! Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!
Poor Yorkies are having a heck of a time, it's over their heads!!
If you don't hear from me in a day or two, come dig me out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crunchy People
There's a lot I could blog about right now, but since it's late, I'm going to keep it light.Sometimes I refer to people as being 'crunchy.' This is a good thing! Some of my favorite people are crunchy. You know the type...they're the ones to speak their mind tactfully, humorously, but truthfully. They're the kind of people who look at life NOT through rose colored glasses, but clear as a bell, and they love life even with all the grit and truth. You can just tell. They're the kind of people who will come right out and say, "You're full of shit," when, indeed, you are. They're truthful, wise, intelligent, creative, clever, honest, but never in a mean, backstabbing way. If they want to swear, they will say FUCK, not 'f*&k', or 'fork' or 'fart' or 'farg'. But, they also don't just drop the 'F-Bomb' for shock value. It's a true balance. What an art form! (Hee heee he!!)
So, we all know people like this. But why, you ask, do I call them 'crunchy?' Because in the plain vanilla pudding of life, they are the broken up, crumbled crunchy candy cookie bits that make life much more interesting and tastier.
Thank you, my crunchy friends!!!
